Career Boot Camp

Putnam/Travers believes strongly that there’s a huge difference between a college degree and genuine, practical, career preparedness. A high school and college curriculum will educate students on a myriad of interesting and valuable subjects, but most of those studies have very little to do with the actual jobs, functions, and companies that will soon become a young adult’s life. Advanced use of Excel, PowerPoint, or SQL, are great examples of applicable knowledge in one’s first job. The ability to understand a financial statement thoroughly, to speak clearly and persuasively in front of people, or to create a simple financial model are just a few examples of things that students don’t feel confident in upon graduating. Our camps also offer the comradery and networking value of meeting other career minded students. Executives that have thrived in business know that they had to compete, network, and constantly upgrade their skills and knowledge to succeed. The earlier one starts, the better success they’ll enjoy.
